Why Red House? How did we come up with that name?
We get those questions a lot and
and the story behind the Red House Genealogy name is a charming one.
Principal Owner Meghan Jordan grew up in Connecticut where there was no shortage of historic buildings or homes. But one historic building in particular caught her attention everyday when she passed it.
The iconic little red schoolhouse.
The little red schoolhouse epitomizes all of the things Red House Genealogy wants to capture in our business: history, learning and education, and a connection to your family and your past.
Red House Genealogy, located in Asheville, North Carolina, is committed to helping clients explore their past so that their history can be enjoyed by future generations.
I've always had an interest in family history. My own family has the usual assortment of horse thieves, politicians and Revolutionary War veterans.
After finding myself unemployed at age 50, I began to think about what to do next. A long career in PR had come to an end and I was too young to retire. I soon realized that 30+ years of tracing my own family roots created a passion in me for family, history and writing -- the perfect combination for a career in genealogy!
Today, I help people find their past and tell their stories. There's no greater satisfaction than helping someone find out who they are and where they come from. Let Red House Genealogy help you find your past.
